MONDAY NIGHT DHARMA EYE SANGHA

                                                     - Thich Nhat Hanh in Teachings on Love

Welcome to Dharma Eye Sangha, a Monday Night Zen meditation community in Marin County.

We have been meditating and studying the dharma together for fifteen years with our guiding teacher Myogen Steve Stucky, co-Abbot of San Francisco Zen Center. Our evenings are a blend of meditation, loving kindness ritual, informal tea and cookies and visiting, and a dharma talk with free flowing discussion.

Some of us have been practicing Zen for a long time, and some of us are new. We are lay practitioners making the effort to practice mindfulness and loving kindness with our families, places of work, relationships, and ourselves. You are welcome to join us whenever you like. We have meditation cushions and chairs available, but if you have one we request that you bring it. The schedule of dharma talks is posted below.

We are affiliated with the Suzuki Roshi lineage of Zen, and a wide range of practice sanghas including Green Gulch Farm, San Francisco Zen Center, and the other Zen Sanghas and friends in Marin County. We are glad to be part of an ever growing warm and intimate Zen Community that offers Zazen and the Dharma as a path to the embodiment of Buddha's Way.

May you  be filled with loving kindness
May you be free from suffering
May you be happy and at peace

Sitting with Fire, Walking with Change

A Tassajara Retreat with Abbot Myogen Steve Stucky

The wildfire of last summer and the great effort to save Tassajara was an extraordinary event that made national news. This retreat is an open inquiry into how we might choose to “sit with fire”—both literally and metaphorically, both personally and collectively.  We will draw from Buddhist teachings, ecology, natural history, and experience to better understand how we might “show up” and meet the fires, both inner and outer, that sometimes challenge our lives.
